This drexel buffet was bad. Very, Very Bad. Our neighbors (per their usual wonderful selves) called us to let us know they noticed it on the side of the road. Not only was this thing being thrown away, it was ugly. Peach and gold. Brown glaze with TERRIBLE drip marks. Drawers = no worky. Also- it weighed at least 10,000 lbs. Yep, 10,000. Take a second to soak this in.
We talk a lot on our facebook page about our great friends and family being so supportive…and nothing says supportive like giving you business. For some reason, even though we treat every piece the same, there is this weird pressure when it is a piece for someone you know. You want them to love it and you want them to be so happy that they took a chance on you and your little side/hobby business. I can’t tell you how much it validates what you are doing when friends trust you to work on their furniture pieces….especially…
We just finished a magnificent buffet. This thing is GRAND. It has a presence. I knew as soon as I saw it that it would be wonderful. It had been in someone’s basement for years and they wanted it gone. I told it that someone would love it again one day.
I didn’t do a fantastic job of before pictures with this so you will have to wait for the before and after. We had to sand the heck out of this. Since this was being done in a creamy white we had to prime, and…
