Antique Desk

On a recent trip to Minnesota we forced my sister-in-law to go estate shopping with us. We found this great desk! It is from the 1800’s but was in rough shape.
After surviving the trip home my handy husband took it 100% apart. It needed to be completely rebuilt and he did a fantastic job. For some horrible reason I can’t find any before pictures 🙁
Anyway…after it was ready to go I stripped, sanded, cleaned, and stained….I tried. 3 times.
There were huge oil stains that I just couldn’t get out. So out came the paint. The shelf and top were both painted with Valspar Signature Spanish Tile.
The drawer didn’t really fit and never had hardware so that got some love too.

These tables are typically valued between $500-$900. We have over 20 hours of labor into this piece and want it to find a home where it will survive another 120 years. It could be used as a console table, entry table, desk, entertainment stand.

The lucky buyer will have to send me pictures of it in its new place!

Check it out in our etsy shop!
